first off, the pop shove it is mainly dont with your back foot. its a popping motion so nothing is done with your front foot and thats probably your problem. just scoop the tail with your back foot and then jump up and catch with both feet. good luck and welcome to RR

Welcome,

Jon said it perfectly its all in the back foot, make sure your front foot is right behind the fron bolts , its its back further it will spin faster and might be hard to catch.

You have to follow the board and hover over it. Also it is nothing to do with front foot...that just catches the board. Like Zack and Jon said it is just scooping with the back foot.

p.s.-doesn't it feel great to actually give advice since this isn't a kickflip thread?

^haha yea it does. my advice is to sorta scissor out you legs(sorry for the lack of a better word) and suck up your legs to start getting them high. i mean look at caswell berry's frontside pop shuvits down stairs.

i used to have roughly the same problem, but it came soon after practice. before u start doing the trick estimate where the board will land, and once uve span it jump forward aiming for that spot ;)

i learned them thanks to the tony hawks game. i kept doing them with my skater lol. i kept watching the motion and changed the angles and such and voila. i have a nice high pop shove it. yippeee!!!

well i first learnt shove its, then the pop shove it came easily,
just thought id brag, as ive started skating switch and im pretty damn good at it, i shove it in switch(nollie actaully), its all the back foot motion, then i could popshove it switch/nollie, and then i could 360 pop shove it, and now i can 360 flip in switch its amazing,i just put it all together, i cant kickflip for shit in switch, but its all up to placement of your feet, just push real hard with your back foot, place it on the outside edge pop and push, only a nudge with your front foot, i can almost ollie better in switch than normal stance, im so stoked,

it's like ollieing, but kinda sweep your backfoot a bit rather than just popping
