easy thing to rmb.
frontside for slides/grinds means you're facing the ledge. it is on your front-side.

backside for slides/grinds means the ledge is behind you. it is facing your back side (or ass).

just rmb how u turn when you ollie for a boardslide like that, and it is the exact opposite for flatground tricks. if this is confusing you, i guess i'll explain it in a bit more detail.

imagine you are doing a 180 ollie

frontside means your frontside (chest side) is facing the direction you are going.

backside means your backside (ass side) is facing the direction you are going.

I personally think this system of naming frontside or backside, while working, is really stupid because it gets confusing when you're new...

ill explain it a little simpler but more understandable just in case he doesnt get it, [ok i wanna explain it cuz i was the most stumped on this ever and now im correcting everybody]

frontside grinds: you roll up to the rail/ledge/curb/stick/etc facing the way it is

so you see what youre going to grind when you roll up

backside grinds: you dont see what to grind when you roll up to it, your facing away from it.

spins fronside, you spin and see where you are moving , backside you dont, you see whats behind you, you always call a spin a backside or frontside by what the first 180 is.

not quite, no one mentioned fakie and nollie... if you're regular, spinning clockwise is always backside (regular, fakie, nollie) except for in switch and counter-clockwise is always frontside (regular, fakie, nollie) except for switch.

so, you can't just say "halfway through, if you're facing forward, its frontside, and if not, it's backside" because fakie doesn't work that way. don't ask me why, i know it doesn't make sense, ask steve caballero. he called his cabalerials "backside" even though technically it should be frontside.

the same rules apply for shove its.

ok that really helps...........but it'd be easier if rails were the same as flatground.........

i like the system the way it is. cuz im used to it. but with bmxers, fs and bs depends on which way ure pegs point, and that also determines switch stance and shit... I dont get that at all! my bmx friend tried to explain it but nah..
