Full video editing!

Hey all. As you've probably seen in my 'Long lost family...' post, I mentioned I have just found a brother, who is deep into computers, and video editing. He has told me he is going to send me a 60 gig computer, with a Pentium 4 processor, *full* video editing software, and hardware, 512+ megs of ram...and all of the software he uses in his professional work. I couldn't believe it! He said he will include a card which will allow me to make VHS videos, from my computer. He also said he was considering a DVD *burner* and CD burner. I felt super bad, someone just giving me something like that..so I told him I'd rather him not do that...but he says it's all parts that are laying around at his work and home...

I think Punkrock and I's video will be delayed a little bit, because my bro is also an expert with Quicktime editing, and apple comps and such, so he will be helping me recompress our video to make it as small as possible. He is also providing me with a quicktime streaming server for the videos we make. What's that mean? It means no downloading, you just watch the video.

I mainly just wanted to let you all know about punkrock and I's vid. I haven't told punkrock yet...but if I'm going to have full video editing possibilities, I might as well make use of them.

I'm just curios if you would edit videos for money cause I need my video edited and if you did edit them for money how much would it cost.

He probably could do that, but isn't editing something that you'd want to do yourself? There's lots of different things that can be done, and i'd want to help create my own video.

I think he means putting it out back to tape...which no one can do, without the hardware. I will be able to do that...and if you really wanted me to, I'd do it like...dependind on the site, super cheap....just because most of the time I'll do it free for friends, so that gives you a hint...

I talked to him...and he said 'this computer sucks right now'...he sent a picture though. Here it is BEFORE being upgraded.

In my...offense, lol..Video's aren't that hard to make...and this is my first one, did you know that? The second one will be mega better, when I actually use some of my skill...lol.

Right now, there's a load of tricks, and great effects, and stuff I could do, but I just want it done!

i think videos are ony hard to make if you dont really have enough tricks and there is like 12 sk8ers but with the 2 of you it will be a breaze

Video's aren't hard to make like I said..but making a good video is more than just throwing clips in, it's more planning, and integrating the video with the music...which can be tough. Our next video..will be on VHS..it will have some mega skillz involved..

What does everyone think about adding a photography/video editing tips section to the forum and maybe even to the site?

That'd rock..I'm open to helping. Oo..maybe I can get my bro write an article or two, he's got a full non-linear video editing studio, and does it as a side job...ramprage, should I talk to him about that? I can do more of a 'cheap' editing, lol.

I think that would be a great idea. I dont know about a forum, but definitly on the site. I guess a forum would work out because if someone didnt understand something, they could ask in there.So yeah, good idea!

I'l be glad to help if you want i have good skills on video editing i'm good using Shake and several plugins from Sapphire, so if there's any doubt about editing just ask me or any other kind of help i'll be glad to be of some use.
