Anyone here likes The Smiths? If you like bands like The Vines, Stellastarr*, Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes or Modest Mouse, you'll probably like The Smiths too since they were a huge influence to those bands. If you're curious and got some money, go buy one of their Best Of cds...you'll be pleasently surprised.

they're influences on those bands, but you wont necissarly like them because of that, they dont really sound a whole lot like em. but that set aside they are a damned decent band and "asleep" is a terribly good song.

Yeah well those bands are like that neo-post-punk-new-wave trend that started in NYC a couple of years ago with Interpol and others. I personally hate them too except for Stellastarr*, wich I really really like.

Hey man dont hate on modest mouse, theyve been makin awesome music way before the strokes and dont sound like any of those bands

Yeah I really like interpol too. Only thing is I think the guy's delayed voice effect sounds too much like the doors.
