yes, they friggin suck!^^

10-27-2004, 02:25 AM
Bah, everyone now knows they're pop. I'd say 99% of the "punk" that came out after '95 is actually kid-punk, so we could call it post-punk punkrock or neo-punk or just plain pop. What I don't get is how everyone hates them and they still sell cds.
.pie.
10-27-2004, 02:58 AM
Um, who the hell considers them punk anymore?
Everyone I know that is in to them even know theyre not punk.
Of course they suck, but it's old news.
What's even worse is the fact that people still have tendencies to whine and ***** about them.
And snowboarder, the bands you are thinking of are bands like these. Bands like Green Day, Offspring, Blink 182, CKY...all sold out (IMO they all sucked from the start), and even Rancid (who I do like). There are however many, many bands that are awsome punk bands that have come out in the past 10 years. Bands like the ones I mentioned are part of the mainstream world, these are the only types of punk that is actually getting out to those MTV boppers and what you consider "kiddy pop".

Oh sorry it's lyrics like "I wanna fu.ck a dog in the ass" that should captivate me? Please, besides their lyrics, they cant play there instrments for sh.it (except Travis Barker, who is decent but in fact is WAY OVERRATED). They truly what I consider a crappy band. But that's just IMO.
They consider themselves to be punk, but that is the biggest bullshi.t I've ever heard.

they acctually sing a song about haveing anal intercourse with a dog? they are gay if thats true
iamflameboy
10-27-2004, 01:05 PM
no, thats not gay, gay is two people of the same gender having a relationship, or just somebody whom is very happy. The word you're looking for is beastiality...and even then it's not cause it's a ****ing joke

blink 182 did change, but they r trying to act like little kids and they admit they suck at there instruments, but the reason why they seem poppy cuz everybody gets the wrong idea of the all the small things music video, there making fun of the backstreet boys, not trying to be them

first off, it's pop-punk, not "kiddy-pop" (kidd-pop is like raffi). Secondly, Good Charlotte is not a bad band, because if you see that they are pop-punk and leave it at that, they are good. Simple plan, on the other hand, just suck a lot. i hate that freakin guys voice, it's just so whiney and *****y.
also who are "all those other gay kiddy-pop bands" you said but didnt list any others?

first off you guys are crazy, blink makes funny songs and songs that 16 year olds can relate to, espeically dude ranch, when they around 16 which brings me to my next point, as bands get older, their music changes, take your age, subtract 10 from it, and ask your self if you would be making the same kind of music then as you would be now
simple plan=suck, they dont have anything but *****y girls to talk about
the thing with good charlotte is their first cd was really good and talked about real life things and they werent really a punk or a pop punk band and only benji really dressed like a punk, then in their second cd they all
tried to dress like punk with their chuck taylors wich is ironic cuz thoughs shoes got their popularity with the image of dirty raddy shoes and theirs were brand new wich made my stomach hurt but has nothing to do with this, they snag anthems that sounded good on the radio but didnt really mean anything and whos messages had already been sung about a thousand times before. Now there new cd is looking alittle bit more like it has some depth but all i can think about is how much they seem to be ripping off the misfits and alkaline trio.

The real crime is all the good real punk bands in the UK have it hard cuz the market only wants the U.S. pop punk stuff. We the public are the cause of this musical limitation...just not enough kewl people in the world I guess...or just to many lame-mooos. Whats real kewl on the part of the old style punkers is that they dont talk shit about the unleaded punk bands..I guess they feel it will eventually come around for them....breath holding..turning blue...

Okay, i dont care what you guys think....
1. Green Day, Offspring and NOFX do 'not' suck
2.Blink 'were' better and 'I wanna f*** a dog in the a** is the worst song to come out of anyones mouth, ever...
3. Now Good Charlotte, MXPX, Simple Plan and CKY do suck (actually some CKY is good)
4. If you want punk, go and buy a Sex Pistols CD or Vinyl, they kick heiny...
5. If not get some Pennywise, Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphys or System of a Down...
6. Good Charlotte suck____but____they made a theme song for a TV program called 'Undergrads' which i liked...
7. Misfits are good, but they like death too much, Metallica are good too, so are Guttermouth and Millencolin...
8. Pop-Punk is for losers, and whoever talked about DudeRanch is totally correct... as you get older, you change, which is what blink and green day and the offspring (which totally reminds me, check some old offspring albums out (Smash, Ignition etc) and then tell me theyre still punk-pop)

why is pop-punk for losers? people cant listen to more than one genre? and you said that good charlotte sucks, but made a song you like. they're pop-punk, you called yourself a loser, and are a hypocrite. how old are you, like 12? stop acting like you know everything about music. you dont. and system of a down is not punk. CKY, MXPX, and good charlotte are talended musicians. dont say anything about them not having talent, because if they didnt have any you wouldn't know who the hell they are.

I asked him if i could have a look and hes like sure dude. I took it and walked off and hes like "give it back you freak" and i snapped it and chucked it at him. yeh! it was burnt anyway. I am 16, not 12 and i dont like Good Charlotte as people, not their music, they give punk a strange image, no 'real' punk artists dress like them, and some punkpop is good but those artists do not pretend to be punk, do they? And i didnt say SOAD were punk did i...? The others are but the sentance i used is "5. If not get some Pennywise, Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphys or System of a Down..." which says to get it, not that they are punk

5. If not get some Pennywise, Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphys or System of a Down... WOW. Did you just utter the words "punk" and "System Of A Down" in the same sentence. Please, no. Labeling people is wrong, yeah, but music sin't as bad. Like, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion, Pennywise (borderline), are punk, and Dropkick Murphys are kinda on the edge, but SOAD? Nope. Just plain "punk" is gone now a days. When it existed, it was bands like the Ramones, yes Social Distorion, Misfits, Bad Religion, the Clash, Minor Threat, Nofx (yes, they are, they've been a band for 20+ years, listen to Maximum Rock'N'Roll), or Stiff Little Fingers. There is no punk now; it's all "street punk" or "pop punk" or "hardcore punk", shit like that. I often indulge myself in street punk; hell, my band has lots of street punk influences. But, it's STREET punk. If people have to have that part on it so that you know what it is, it's not true punk. It's a true fact of life that saddens me greatly.

To me, Blink 182 never sold out because their music has stayed the same, horrible (IMO), Blink 182 music it always has been. Yes there are a lot of faggots that have no clue what they are talking about, and most are those kids that are fanboys that are heavily influenced by Fat Mike and all that other crap, who by the way has no clue what he's talking about in politics.
And punk isn't about being a teenage dirtbag who pisses people off for no reason. It is, always has been, and should always be a type of music. The lifestyle just happened to be stereotypes that have reflected off the lyrical content of the music.

The Sex Pistols were to me what was wrong with punk. They made more money off their merch than they did in CD sales, their band was made out of the imagination of a random guy named Malcom McLaren, and they didn't even believe in their lyrics, and to top it all off, they were the richest, most hypocritical band ever created. Anarchy in the U.K? Bullshi.t.
