Re grip tape??

If ur grip tape wears off ur board very quickly but ur board is still in good shape, is it possible to just put another layer over top of it instead of trying to peel it off??

just get a blow dryer and take off your old griptape.

I didnt think it was very possible to take off your old grip tape. What does the blow dryer do, melt all of the adhesive from the old stuff?

pretty much, but all griptape can be taken off.

yea every griptape comes off when heated, especially my friends, he noticed something funny about it and he took it to the skate shop and the guy there just peeled it off, haha, it was the funniest thing to see how p-oed my friend was..... anyone else ever gotten faulty griptape?

My brother has always used Black Magic, and I think it's pretty crappy. It just peels right off in one try. My Jessup took about 7 1/2 years to get off! Which means it has good sticky-ness.

yeah i loved my jessup g/t on my board that the police took away from me for skating by on school property. now that, is wrong.. i loved that setup too. :confused:

The hell?!?!?!.... the police took your board like that...and you didn't take it back?! Here, when the police takes your board, you just have to pay some kind of fee to take it back...like 20 bucks......else it'd be dumb to lose 1 150$ setup.

you just gotta hate cops as they hate us the sk8ers haha... anyways i don't the cops here in my city cause they like take my skateboards. I've ran away from them like 4 times and i'm tired, they made me paint like 5 hand rails and like 7 curbes i don't even skate on. and i had to pay a $200 fee dude they suck dick i'm tired of them next time i'll just skateboard on his car haha...:D

but there are some cool cops down by mine and my skater guys place. cuz we're in this neighborhood full of them. you just gotta flash them a fake/sweet smile and they'll respect you a lil. but we have our rails and obstacles set up in the court and some of the cops just sit in they're garages, drink beer, and watch us skate. lol it's great though when we complete something kick ass the guys even clap for us, or if we hurt ourselves (which is often) they all freak out and see if we're ok. you gotta respect those kind of cops.

you last two guys are lucky to have a place to skate, the cops here dont even let you roll down the sidewalk! I was riding to the bus stop in a rush and some cop comes up to me and tells me i shouldnt be skating blah blah blah and i tell him i had to go catch the bus and he didnt let me go for a bit and i ended up missing it, but where else would i be going at 7 in the morning? And its even worse if your skating like at the school or something they just harass us, but the town wont give us land to build a park!

When i got my new deck like a few weeks ago, i bought Black Magic grip, well i take it home and skate on it, the next day the grip started to come off. I could just peel it right off with out a trace of stickyness.... :mad: . So i take it back and I ask for new stuff but hes reluctant so he just filed around it...it didnt do a thing. So i just blow dryed it on and it melted all the sticky stuff and it worked. But now its coming off again. Damn Black Magic! :mad:
According to Yuddi, jessup is pretty sticky so im gonna go buy some tomorrow. :)

dude, its not that good trust me...tear it off then add new griptape otherwise u will have a board with 5 inches of griptape just because u cant be bothered to take one layer off!

yes it is possible to put two layers of grip tape on but i wouldnt be to flattered by the idea of putting more weight on my board and having to look at the nastiness and if you wanted to do designs in your griptape like i always do it will be a week project so have fun i reccomend trying to use a blowdryer if that doesnt work which i doubt it will fail just go to a skatestore and typically if there are teenagers there they will take off your griptape but some bastards charge you
