before my mp3 player got ****ed up, i listened to alot of modest mouse, bob marley, placebo, jurassic 5 and shit while out skating. Just mellow tracks cuz I can't skate with louder stuff. Once i get my IPod sometime after Christmas (theyre sold out!), ill be listening to everything while skatin'...

why is there a -core catagory for everything? like metalcore, skacore, indiecore? a friend of mine was telling me about some sub-catagory called "melodian" like ok someone uses a few different influences in their music and all of the sudden theyre part of a brand new genre? moronic, its a waste. we dont need a "core" for everything.

Avenged Sevenfold
Thrice
Finch
Atreyu
My Chemical Romance
AC/DC
Led Zep
Slayer
Clash maybe?

yea man i hear ya. down with the labeling of music. the label of alternative music was dumb enough for my tastes. eventually were gonna have stiff like discocore, popcore and operacore.

im begining to hate music as a whole. too much crap and controversy(?). and some people hate if you like a certain kind of music. ill show an exsample. i got along with this decent looking cristian chick. then one day i brough my CD player, and was listening to satriycon. and now she thinks i hate all religion. music, the great divider.

It could be worse... rapcore? folkcore? countrycore? hiphopcore? reggaecore?

these bands are not punk:
Good Charlotte
Blink 182
Simple Plan
SUM 41
Finch
My Chemical Romance
Avenged Sevenfold
another question... why do people call these shitty bands punk? they are clearly not punk, they dont resemble punk music.

But Good Charlote ROXORS LOL LMAO, god i hate them so much, my cousin loves them and it is the most annoying thing when your at his house, i had a ramones top on and he said who are they, i told him they were a punk band that started in the 70s, he asked me to put some on for him so i put on there anthology and what was his reaction...."this isn't punk, i'll get some punk music" i had the worst minute of my life as i heard my cd player be dirtied by Good Charlotte.

Yeah, when I said 'anything with a fast beat' it basicaly covered those bands you mentioned, I know those bands aren't punk, but i still like them. Let's not start the whole argument about what's punk, cause it always ends in a closed thread...

You like Good Charlotte? You deserve to be drawn and quartered.

Great. Another thread on what is and what isn't punk.
I listen to Oasis to get me pumped and up for anything. A lot of their music can be quite cocky in a sense, king of the world feeling, so it's good to listen to 'em then try new shit.

I Will explain this to you ingrate whelps. At first, GS could be labeled as Soft/BubbleGum Punk. A few people with influence on society listened to GS and decided a song or to was catchy and they liked it. They go out and buy a tee shirt, or their mom see's the CD and gets them a shirt for Xmas (More likely as cool people oftenly wear totally uncool clothing :-2: ) They wear these articles of clothing to school/mall/Skatepark etc... and people start seeing this logo on these people they respect. So they Go Buy a cd. This occurs until you have a whole schoolsworth of people worshipping this band that they think the "cool" people like, where in fact, they don't even like them that much, just to be labled as part of the "in" crowd. It's a revolting process and i advize anyone who actually likes GS to continue listening, but slowly add more musical genres to your CD collection until your favorite band list goes from "Good Charlote, Green Day, Simple Play, New Found Glory and Blink-182" To something more along the lines of the latter, plus "The Clash, The Roots, Mos Def, The Aquabats" Etc, etc...
