Raise your hand if you hate 'em. I was flipping through tws and the one with the eyes freaked the shit outta me. If anything, this makes me wanna go buy a pack 'o cams and try and forget what i just saw.

describe them. saying "new truth ads" is really vague. to my knowledge the one with the woman yelling at the tobacco company for sending her father a drill when hes been dead for awhile from lung cancer is new.

cigarette commercials are all the same. Is it gonna make people stop doing anything though? no.

when your with friends your a completely diffrent person, and most people would go and take a smoke if friends offered them it.

Its ignorant 40 year olds that make those commercials and think that people care about their health. When your a teenager, you obviously dont give a **** about your lungs or your brain.

To sum it all up, those commericals piss me off.

My dad wont quit no matter what. Hes tried the gum and the patches. Nothing. He said he would stop smoking if my mom got him a Chevy Suburban and so he stopped for 3 weeks and then my mom got him the truck and he started smoking again.

Not everyone thinks the same. Why would the US care if another country they dont even have anything to do with is having problems? i mean.. it's just how the world works. everyone is in everyone else's buisness. i think the ads are a good cause. i wouldnt' say they're targetted at smokers. i'd say theyre targetted at pre-teens, possibly teens, who are on the verge. you make up your mind about that stuff then, and act it out later. if you're never taught/shown then... you won't know any better.

I've got a burning question...why is there such a thing as straight edge in the first place? Why pick out all the non smokers? I think the whole straight edge "scene" is bullshit, but that's just my opinion. Doesn't make me hate straight edge kids though.

I'm clean, and happy. If anyone wants to smoke, drink, or whatever, I think it's their business, but at the same time, I'm more respectful of the people who are considerate enough to move away from others. I'm not saying smoke bothers me at all really (parents do it), but it's nice when someone keeps the people around them in mind in a situation like that.

Oh, and I'm not THAT much of a nerd...

Uh no. I live in Holmdel. Not Jersey City or Newark. Holmdel is very very good. There are a lot of big houses and a lot of people want to move here. Holmdel is getting way over crowded. The air is perfect. I live in residential areas. Not a place where there are a lot of factories and stuff.

I was about to say something very similar. I like the truth commercials b/c they do inform people of what they're getting themselves into by smoking.

I don't smoke, but I'm not straight edge. I guess I could be considered nerdy, but I think I'm really just weird. Seriously guys, stop judging people. Freedom of speech is a good thing. Just let people be who they are. At least these kids are intelligent enough not to put themselves through a slow suicide that will one day possibly traumatize their grandchildren.

nowadays i'm not sure if thats a good thing. loads of people smoke in holland, they die because of it. loads of people also use freedom of speech in holland....they get killed because of it. it just makes me wonder if freedom of speech on levels that concerns race is a good thing....cause there's been people killed in holland continuesly since 1983 because of it.

anyway, i dont think i'd start smoking. the smell of all that smoke is disgusting. and i know a guy who smokes and he stinks really bad.
