Well "the memory remains" is a popular song by metallica, and "no leaf clover" is a "new" song they sang at the S&M concert.....there's actually a live cd (i have it) that is played with the San Fransisco Symphonic Orchestra called S&M....they played old classic songs + 2 new songs: "no leaf clover" and "minus human"....Metallica playing with an orchestra gives a totally new perspective the heavy metal....you should at least download some of the S&M songs.

Thin Lizzy didn't write whiskey in the jar either. It's an old traditional irish song which is dated back to the 18th century. Thin lizzy did however pen the rendition of the song that metallica covers.

jesus, i didn't realise it was so old...completely looked over it....there was me getting happy cause snowboarder posted again. Or so i thought. Anyway, cool that caught kirk's pick. I know someone who caught james's pick during the nurburging gig last june.
My guitar teacher got hold of jimi hendrix's pick back in the 60's and he actually let me play with it once when i forgot my own. It's white and thin with some blackish wipes on it.

I was real lucky to get mine, i got it out of 70,000 people. I nearly got beaten up for it though.

Actually metallica did a cover of it... The orginal version is done by Thin Lizzy which was a band that the members of metallica really liked. I know this cause metallica is my favorite band. Another really good song by metallica is "My Friend Of Misery" which has alot of meaning behind it because it was written after the tragic death of Cliff Burton (Their orginal bassist) who died ina bus accident.Here is a video of Thin Lizzy doing whiskey in the jar.

^as someone already explained, actually Thin Lizzy didnt invent the song.

Its a traditional Irish folk song that Thin lizzy performed and got rights to.

Also, My Friend of Misery doesn't really have much to do with cliff burton. You may be thinking of 'To live is to Die'. That song which is off ...and justice for all, was a collection of riffs and a few lyrics written by Cliff before he died.

Metallica = my favourite band.

Don't know exactly. Might've just caught it but I don't actually know if jimi used to throw picks in the crowd. The guy I have lessons with was so amazed that he actually used the pick to which my teacher said "well you might as well, it's what it's made for" and it just stayed at that.
He's right though...it is just a pick.

metallica is friggin awesome...i don't think they've made a bad album. sure, a lot of people said it went downhill after Burton died but i don't think so.
