Please read... advice..?

i go to a private school... 250 in my grade.. and im' in 10th grade. i want to swtich schools to a public school.. 1000 in a grade. why? because at my school. bascially you have to conform to be the same to be anyone. you have to drink, have alot of money, do drugs.. not really give a shit. well excuse me for wanting a good life. the people on the soccer team are making it so i don't want to play. i don't want to paly the thing i love? Something is wrong with that picture. i've put sooo much thought into it. and i understand there are always going to be those people around. but we've all grown up with them being 'better' because of where they live/come from and cliques and assumptiosn from 1st grade still exist. i want to go to a school where i can be myself. i mean.. i know there's people at my school that love me.. but there's not enough poeple in my grade so that i can have a group of people that have the same thoughts and ideas and interests as me. i have my friends.. i'm always out hanging and stuff.. but i want to be in an enviornment where i feel good about myself. where i don't go home thinking why i didn't do this or that in 3rd grade and how much things would be different now because of it. it's all so messed up... but all my parents say is 'those kinda stuck up snotty girls will be everywehre' and i nkow that.. but i can deal with them, and have when i'ts someone that i know will atleast have to give me a chance because they know NOTHIGN about me.. the ones at my school either think false things, or just have grown up thinking that they're so much better.. just because.... also.. my school won state B class in soccer.. the one i want to switch to.. down the street won in for A class. both kick ass for soccer.. both are competitive

any ideas on how to get the parents to udnerstand taht i have put serious thought into it, and that i want to do this. ??

Tell them about the drugs and stuff and also tell them that they'll be saving money if you go to public school. Public school isn't bad at all, but most parents think they are. Tell your parents that you're ready for a change and think that this change will not only help you academic wise but socially too. I think/hope they'll understand where you're coming from.

say exactly what youve pointed out in this post. if you already have, i doubt that any parents would want to change their childs school from private to public because they believe it will lead to a better life. if they dont let you, dont worry, youve only got a couple years left

First off i hate private schools, i don't understand paying for ecucation and alot of the time the kids come out weird, not having real life experiences and doing more drugs than most people do. All of the kids who go to private schoools near me do drugs, a whole year in one got expelled for drug dealing. Go to the normal school, the only difference is you'll meet more interesting people.

the reason everyon you know at private school does drugs is because it's the same at both schools... just there's less at private schools.. so like the majority of people are into drinking/drugs.. i'm not. Those kinda people run the school and it sucks.

I alwas thought it was the other way around? Public school kids are the drugged up futureless kids, and private school kids are the good kids, dont drink dont smoke, blah blah blah. That's just the way it is in my town i guess? I mean I smoke and drink, but I sure as hell don't run the school, nor do I try to conform people, but I guess I see where you're going at.

When you get older you will look back at this and laugh. Dont feel like life is passing you by just live the way you want to. Believe me your problems now will be solved when you mature more, just stick it out. Most everyone has these feelings and some people try and switch school thinking that it will be good and it turns out not so good. Then if that happens then your in a worse situation. The worst thing you can tell yourself is when you get what you want you will be happy.

Here's how things are at my school.. i'll tell you the reasons i want to switch. Allright.. the main group of people... 75% of them i'm friends with.. i talk to... etc. in my grade, and in grades around mine. I know what i want to do with my life, i've got a serious relationship going.. it's not in my nature to be immature and to not think. i mean. hell... i don't know how i grew up the way i did, and see things how i do. it's just how i was raised and i guess i can thank my parents for that.

i have a group of "close" friends. but there's no one i can trust. two of my life long friends annoy me so much. they're soooo immature. and its to the point where i don't want to be around them, because it's starting to cost me financially, and timely. i don't have the time to listen to them argue about things that don't even matter, that no one cares about, because it's as simple as 1+1=2 or if 1+1=11.... they never fought about that.. but you get my idea... stupid small things.

my year has been hecktic.. my best friend turned physco *****.. there's really no other word for it. she left all of her old friends.. ALL of them. and is like a ***** to us all. she thinks shes' really popular, but really she's haning out with 3 other wannabe's.. they sit there, judge people all day (litereally.. they point out every physical flaw) when they themselves are overweight, not pretty, etc.. it's her thing. i'm over it, maybe it's their way at getting back at the world for thigns that have happened to them. but we were so close.. and then.. it just ended.

1 have another friend, she's usually depressed.. she runs with an off crowd half the time and when i see her usually she's bored or feels out of place. she's like 6'2, and muscly.. plays basketball and for years has been the victim of shallow male's remarks. it's not fair to her... she has alot of stuff to do so i don't see much of her.. but she's usually allright..

3 other friends.. they're usually nice. i just don't have much in common with them. that's the probleme iwth the rest of my friends... i know them, love them to death... just don't have alot in common with them. or thigns in the past. like since we've all been together since like pre-school... cliques from 3rd grade and old thoughts from elementry school still linger in people's minds. people still think and do things based on that.

i have friends at the school i want to go to that are sooo much alike me... i have fun with... etc. and i know i can be happy there. i don't want to like spend the last 2 years of my h/s life feeling like shit b/c of things that shouldn't be an issue.. i'm not trying to swtich schools to find freinds... i'm friends with basically everyone in my grade. i just need to be around the people that understand where i'm comming from, and are like me more... i've thoughta bout what if's and stuff... i've t hought everything through... uniforms, rules, sports, music, plays, friends, games, classes, # of students, school size, it's like 2 blocks from my current school so it's not much of a distance diference, religion, ... everything. and i still want to go and try.

Just beg your parents into enrolling you into public school. Tell them your reasons and hopefully they will understand. But to tell you the truth, public school isn't much better than private.

dang haha. Seriously you are not the only one that is experiencing these feeling believe me, I have a sister that is a sophmore and she is just like you. My girlfriend throughout highschool was the same way. I remember my sister used to write down all of her friends and put it on her door, i thought that was weird but i guess that girls are just like that. My advice would be to stick it out, because most everyone matures the last 2 years of highschool and everything gets better. But if you must switch school then go for it, but i doubt you will like it.

That post was waaaaaaaaaaaaay to long for me to read right now, all I have to say is...Bring home a pound of weed and tell your parents this is what runs the school and tell them that you dont want that. Then burn the weed.

The shock factor will get them to see it your way. Imagine seeing a child walking in with a pound of weed.

As for the main subject. The main difference between private and public schools is the fact that in a private school you're a client, and in a public school you're a service user. So what this mean is that you DO get better service in a private school, and the education IS better. It'd be a waste to drop the chance of going to a private school. And if you're strong enough not to "comform", well you shouldn't have any problems living in that environment.

My dad's company pays the equivalent of $35,000 USD a year for me to go to private school. There's a shock factor for you. That's about a year of university in the states for a division 1 school. But, think of your application when you want to move on to bigger and better things in life... universities are really after money to be honest. Them seeing you came from a rich private school where your education was better compared to a public school where everyone gets an alright education will help them.

Not every private school person does drugs. I think I have about 90 to 100 in my senior year. 80% of them drink, just because that's a popular thing to do in England. Rough estimate says 20-30% smoke cigarettes and maybe 20% smoke weed. I think 1 or 2 have ever hit harder drugs in their life. No one forces you to drink or do drugs. If you can not drink and still have a good time, but not be obnoxious people will still accept you. It's all good.

I don't think I actually answered anything except for stay in private school because it will help you later on. Find some people you can just chill with.

Yeah.. i have... i thought things over. basically i guess it's there's a few people around me that are dragging me down, and i'm going to actually hang out with my other friends that idk why i didn't hang out w/ before. we've been friends since forever...

i wasn't trying to be all 'sorry for myself' up there.. i was just extrememly frustrated at how some people just throw random things out that had nothing to do with my situation.

Anyways.. thankz for the words. i just need to figure out how to be myself around people that have had a different idea of me for the past 2 years... it's hard to just 'be yourself' when you have nothing to talk about with the people... you know? anyways.. i'm out.. later
