actualy it depends. a nose slide yes if it is waxed enugh, but a 50-50 probrably not. you trucks will chip the wood and ull just stop and fall. i have tried it. even with lithium grease and wax all over the wood uoy cant do it

Yup mad man skate is right, you can boardslide and noseslide actual plywood no problem when it's waxed. Grinding it will chip up the wood and you can get huge splinters from it and it destroys your ramp. Just stick a angled peice of steal on the corner and you should be set!

actualy i have recently fornd that i am sometiumes wrong about that. if you have your kingpin bolt loose and the axle part of your truck is all that touches then you can 50-50 peices of pressure trated wood. but most boards on most wood cant do it. but even if you have all the stuff the right way like above if you weigh too much you screw the wood up to. my advice is to go to napa and get angle metal to put on it or just build a ramp instead

hey sorry for my pointless post up there
i read the question again and i thought he ment that if you wax ANYTHING enough it will grind etc.
but i was wrongf and im sorry yes you can grind wood sometimes if you dont put enough force down but i would suggest like the others to get a peice of metal and have that on the side it will greatly increase the life span of your box/ramp etc.
if i was you i would buy a rail because that willk boost your confidence alot more that a box and it is easier to learn harder trcks on and they will becaome easier on harder rails when you get older

Good tips guys, the one thing that you shouldn't even bother waxing though are curbs unless they're slanted.
