Lying- why do so many people here do it?? it's really pissing me off. you people who do it- its really obvious when you lie.
like...one time you say "yeah, i started skating last month", and in another post you say"man, i ollied down 12 steps at my school!"

some people here are so inconsistant like that. in one post they ask what a certain trick is, and in one that was posted before that, they say they can do it.

and, the people here who actually skate KNOW that no one can ollie one foot high on their first try ever. it takes weeks or months to learn how to ollie, and a lot more time to get a foot high

No one will make fun of you if you tell the truth. like if you talked about how happy you were that you landed your first 50-50, no one will say "dude, you suck. i have been doing 50-50s for a year!", because if they do, everyone will be on them about it. dont say that you did a frontside flip fakie 50-50 or anything (unless you actually did)...

it really makes you look like an ass when you say you can triple kickflip 10 steps, or that you can full cab heelflip or something, 'cause no one believes you anyway, but they wont come right out and say it.

Have you ever lied about your skateboarding? why the f*ck would you?? everone would ask you for help on that quad heelflip 360 body varial, and what would you say? youd be screwed

I have been skating since september and I am willing to admit i suck at skating!!!! I can ollie, pop-shuv-it, and 50-50. Oh yeah, and boardslide and manual. Thats all i can do so if u dont like it i dont really give a shit.

i definately agree with that, i know one person that i believe does this and that is ------- sorry i wont metion names!
she says that she can double kick then she says that she would like to learn it

i dont see the piont of lying because no one gets impressed, it just puts you into shit and then you cant back it up!

Well I've been skating for a week now, and I can ollie and pop-shuvit, and almost 180....but I admit some ppl actually lie a lot, like at my school...I say like "man I started to board this week, I can't be real good yknow"...and he's like "I've been boarding for a year now, I can do (insert insane trick here)"....I go to his house, and we start skating....I can barely stay on the board (I'm REALLY a beginner), and I'm like "show me that insane trick"....and he can barely flip a kickflip, and can't land it.....I hate when ppl lie about their abilities.

I agree. I really stink at skating too. I've been skating 7 months and all I can do is a varial kickflip and that's still pretty inconsistent. I can only tailslide maybe 8 inches off the ground and that's only if I'm lucky. But you all make a good point. At school people just try to impress each other but you can easily see right through it. Like this one kid tells me he landed a kickflip- 5-0 grind. The day before I saw him and it took him at least 31 tries to get a little kickflip. Maybe if I'm really lucky one day I might get a kickflip to a bs boardslide and manage to land it without killing myself(like once every full moon). I'm sorry about one topic I lied on about a kickflip to fs b-slide to a manual and shuvit out. I can't do it. I could get a fs b-slide to a manual and keep it for about 1/2 a second. Anyway I just though I'd confess that to everybody to clear my concience and to tell everybody that this topic is really important and everybody should read it and learn from it. ....Sigh.....Thank You!!

like i think i lied in the topic were we post out tricksi can't nollie flip 3 times outta 24 tries i think i can nolli flip like 1 try ever millions it's a hard ass trick anyways still ihate that trick i only practice it like 1 day every week and a half cause i wanna do bass ass trick i'm tired of sal flip and kickflip i need to do better...

on ver. 2, someone said they triple flipped 10 steps, and the other was just an example i made up. i did that because if i used a recent post, the person who said it would get really pissed at me:D

I think it's sick and don't prove anything especially when you get your mate round or sumert and he says go on then shows us that trick you said you could do,

i've been doing as best as i could, for as long as i could. and i admit, i suck at remembering trick names. they all sound the same to me! but i remember the ones i can do. lol thats about it. and yeah, i admit my moves are a bit sketchy, but hell, a lot of girls don't even try anything. i may not be the best skater, but i do it for the love of the sport, if you got skill it makes it even more enjoyable. but the main point, lying only makes you look stupid. period. but i'd never be like "oo yeah hit a ollie down a 10 step yesterday!" i mean, no no no, unless i really did it. i mean, i'm working on it. so just watch out this cat is learning things fast.:D

yeah that's the way of talking dawg anyways when i tell me friend i can do this trick and i don't know the name they are like oh your lying and stuff so then i show it to them and they are like dude awesome that trick is named blah blah blah and i used to do tricks i didn't even knew the name of so anyways when i told my friend i landed a nollie flip underflip they were like no way dude stop lying and stuff then i was like dude it's hard to land if I try to show you like it'lll take me for ever but i was lucky and i landed it the first try and i was so happy but then i tried again and like no wya anyways... laters:D :cool:

Ahhhhh the topic has come up lying. Welllllllll..... we all lie no matter if it is about how we get straight a's in school or if we can "triple kickflip a ten set"(by the way that triple kickflip a ten set would be of quite a challenge for Geof Rowley)but one thing is for sure. What good does lying do for you? I admit I lie sometimes and that is normal,because no one on this world is perfect,but once you lie(especially on the internet when you have no proof)you have to make another lie as to get out of the lie you just have told. Lying hmmmm... just senseless i have heard some good comments about lying in this thread and this was quite a great post by the way aronsama. i will talk to you all later
