A fun thing to do is to skate with ankle weights. I really builds your skills and has amazing results. When I where them I can barely get a 180 in and that's about it. Then you go skating with your friends and you can't do anything. They make fun of you...then you take the weights off(look for their surprised faces).
Then you get a lot of height and you can actually do things that were way harder before. Like getting a lot of height on your kickflips and stuff. Then see who's laughing at the end of the skate session. Anyway... its fun you should try it. It's a really good skill builder.

I heard that Chad Muska puts bricks in his backpack then takes em out and ollies even higher. Sounds like a good idea to strengthen your legs, kind of like a baseball bat donut.(if you play baseball you know what a donut is)

man i have some of those in my room!!! i used to do the exact same thing eccept when i roller bladed(well, tried to...i was like 10) and i wouldnt be able to jump for shit, then i took them off and i felt so light i could jsut jump like hell...
me and my friends always jump over stuff, my record is like 3' 9"(it was my compter chair with a deck stacked on the top) and i can jump over tons of stuff easily as hell, this will help your ollies
im gona put thsoe weights on and try to jump over the fold up table and stuff, then i can take them off and jump over something thats maybe 4 feet high!!!

It's just to make it easier when doing tricks. When you work with harder stuff and then go back to the easier stuff, it's totally simplified.

I got mine at a place called "Big 5" sporting goods store. They've got stuff from 3-35 lbs.
