Does anybody else get stereotyped because of the clothes you where. I only have two skating shirts and marked down shoes so all of the skaters assume that I suck at skating.(That's why I put me doing kickflips down stairs and varial flips on pictures in my binders). It really gets on your nerves and pisses you off. I've seen kids who are really tricked out with the fanciest shoes and Skating pants and crap like that. I had to do without skate shoes for my first 4 months and I skate just fine. This really pisses me off the way you get stereotyped as a sucky skater just because you don't have enough cash to look really boss. Hate those people. What about you?

u know what sucks that you have a lot of sk8ing clothe but people think you are a ***** cause in the times were no one knew i skateboarded i like used to wear sk8ing clothe i still do haha anyways and like people called me ***** and stuff so i didn't cared until one day i was in the skatepark and i was kickfliping, doing suvit and stuff and they were like whoa he is not a ***** so anyways go to a skatepark and do kick ass trick that you know and the'll see that you are not a *****

I don't really think ppl with skating clothes who don't skate are automaticly *****s, they are if they say they're good at skating, but just puting skate clothes doesn't have to mean you're skating. I'll take a non-skating exemple; Tommy Hillfiger....there was a time when every1 had a TH shirt, pant, cap or whatever, but the tommy hillfiger clothing where actually meant to be sailing gear, for sailboat.....and don't tell me that guy in harlem does sailboat. I think when you like a clothepeice, but it doesn't go with your social appearence, it doesn't matter, as long as you like it :)

woohoo other people are fed up with it too!!!! except for me its not skaters cuz there only like um 5-10 other skaters in my school... its by god damn WANNA BE THUGS!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate them and they all play basketball.... not that i having anything against it.... and they harass me daily fo no damn reason other than the want to start a fight with me cuz im different.... quite different.... i got RED hair and am semi-punk, yet the dont make fun of the other kids who look punk and are punk... but hey im a punk and look like a skater so that means i get made fun of for no reason other than these, i look different and am different, and i dont like rap (rap nowadays, i like SOME old-school stuff... some...very little) and by the way i would like to mention that these cats are like sophmore' an im in 8 grade..... yeh they have no life because they waste time makin fun of me and my friends, FOR NO REASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and today my good very punk friend was getting made fun of.... but it wasnt right, one of the wanna-be thugs started like rubbing against him or something and then called him a homo-phobe and then the kid like flipped out, for no reason and they just harass us cuz the assoles, and have nothing to do but waste their time makin fun of kids who are younger than them.... point there???? there is none and we nything top them to mak them act like this except be different!!! so they have no reason at all and thats what pisses me of the most..... and im tired oof being stereotyped by random people who dont know me and judge me for the color of my hair!!!!!

one word robiskewl: amen. i mean, just cuz i'm the one out of like 3 sixth graders at my school who skate religiously and can actually do stuff, doesn't mean they can treat me like shit. i own skateboarding clothes, yes, but i don't spend tons of cash just to get it. and yes, people diss me on it, but i don't care. thats there opinion and they can kiss my ass. i just don't really react to it, so used to it, whats the use? plus, yes, they are also older than me. more like 8th/freshman. also, they think i'm like lesbo or something..HA if they only knew the thought through my head......:eek: lol, anyways, but they are either jealous of the skill or bored and need something to do. what a bunch of asses

dude do you have a recording camera or whatever you name that if yes like make a video and make a video and send it to a company like world industries to see if they sponsor you and if they do like you will like get free stuff and the people that stereotype you wont do that no more;) luck

i think its funny when the "thugs" pick on people. well not funny but just strange. i mean whats the point. i dont care if you think you are tough. other people dont care if you think you are tough. what are they trying to prove any way? lol it is funny when htey try to pick a fight with me thought, just because they are sssooooo easy to confuse and then they are the ones makeing the fools out of themselves. but any way back on subject i know skaters who wear skate clothes and ones who dont of all different skill levles ( from non-existant to WOW!!!) i myself wear some skateing shirts and stuff, but not when i skate lol. and i have never heard of anyone running into your problem SIM37. all that i can say is that you know who you are who you want to be and what you can do, dont let other people harassing you bother you. it'll do you good in the long run

i dress in which some people whould label as..punk/freak/goth and lots of people lately have been dressing like me and my friends who of course dress the same as me and it's starting to get on my nerves i mean the way people dress they don't want it to be followed by people like preps or ne thing like that cuz they don't want it to become the "in thing" you know what i mean? it's kind of like they're *****s i just can't stand that and also my parents were getting on me for the way i dress cuz they don't like it and i got in a big fight with them about it and of course i still dress the same way. but i just don't see how the way i dress is such a big freaking deal

i hate it when other skaters put you down dude. that really pisses me off. That is really becoming an issue. more and more skaters are starting to act like the typical prep. judging for what ppl wear. I remind all of you that in the end, we're all skaters.

yea, to add on to ^ him, i doesn't matter what we wear, as long as you're on a board and skating. i mean, someone could be wearing polo shorts, a collared striped shirt, and fake aditases, with a rag handy to clean his shoes, and be better than you will ever be. you would still think he's cool because he can do some awesome tricks

I don't really get dissed because I don't wear alot of skating clothes....but alot of people think i'm a lesbian because I have short hair and wear baggy clothes....especially my friend samantha...except she is a lesbian and wants me to be one....besides the point...I don't get why people assume that what you wear is who you are...

It happens too me alot. But know what I do to those skaters, I tell them to come skate with me sometime, too show them that I don't suck and prove them that looks can be deceiving. Plus, it usually works, because I'm one of the best at our park, and pretty much the only hardcore boarders go to the park, but we're usually street skating, lol.
