^^^ Actually, I haven't set them up as of yet. I'm looking forward to riding them, though. I'm glad Thunder now has a truck that fits wider boards!

Adam's Released
"After more than two-and-a-half years behind bars, skate legend Jay Adams was released this morning, July 7, from the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon. Bussed to Portland and flown to LAX, Jay will be living at a halfway home in Southern California. He’s also been offered a job as facilities manager at Hurley headquarters in Costa Mesa. For the time being, Jay says he’s going to stay put in Southern California. Probably a wise choice, since the frontier of Hawaii’s North Shore can make things tough for people who often find themselves surrounded by their personal demons. In November 2005, Jay was arrested by federal agents at his North Shore home for his middleman role in a heavy-duty meth deal between California and Hawaii. For the back story, click here. Jay, who was on probation at the time, was facing a possible life sentence, but he turned his life around, got married, and was trying to do the right thing. Jay had to hand over yet another one of his 'Nine Lives' cards, and the judge gave him a light sentence, considering the circumstances. According to his friends and family, if Jay blows it one more time, he’s going back to prison for the rest of his life. This much he eluded to in a letter I got from him a few months ago. He also reminded me of the first time we met in-person (when I flew to Hawaii in 2003 to interview him) and how that version of Jay Adams (the one who wouldn’t sit down for the interview until I cracked a beer and agreed to join him in consuming a batch of prescription painkillers) needed to vanish forever. If drug-addict Jay needs to go away so that today’s Jay can live on the outside with his family and friends, I can raise a cup to that. But his legacy as one of skateboarding’s most gifted natural talents (and all the good and bad that comes with the ride) will never be erased. Cheers to that, as well." http://www.fuel.tv/PoolSnob/blogs/vi...4989&type=Blog

Foundation has discovered a new superstar for the super company’s am team. His name is Alex Gourdouros and we’re not sure whether he’s been actually voted onto the lineup by his new teammates with his display of dropped opportunities or skilled trickery. All the same, Congrats dude, now get in the van. Summertime rolls on!
Alex Gourdouros supposedly an AM on Foundation? Tuesday July 8, 2008 : 08:08 AM Sheckler Down, But Not Out Sources in the news media have revealed that Ryan Sheckler has apparently broken his arm just four days prior to this week’s Maloof Money Cupat the Orange County Fairgrounds. Despite the unfortunate injury, Shecks still intends to skate to the best of his ability for a chance at the largest-ever first place prize of $100,000. Whether he will be able to swing a club for a scheduled charity golf event later this month remains in question.

For who that care; remember awhile back I posted a story of the South Bank in London was planned to be redeveloped?
Well turns out the plan was shot down and there will be no redevelopment and the South Bank is staying... A huge success for the skateboarders of London and beyond occurred yesterday. The legendary South Bank has been saved due to the instrumental efforts of Toby Shuall and Winstan Whitter’s insightful film Save Southbank and the concentrated support of skateboarders around the world! From the British Government’s official response: “The Southbank Center is an independent arts organization and decisions about the Undercroft are a matter for them. However, the Southbank Center recognizes the importance of the Undercroft in bringing together skateboarders from across the UK and the value that the skateboarding community has brought to many young people and the South Bank area itself. Any activity that engages and develops young people can have a very positive impact on society and the skateboarding community that has grown up around the Undercroft has brought together people from various backgrounds, created a vibrant public space and added real value to the lives of many young people. The Southbank Center has said that it has no plans to redevelop the Undercroft used by skateboarders. In fact, they are in close discussions with the skateboarding community about how to improve the current skateboard area and about how the community might become more involved in the Southbank Center’s artistic program.”

After years of setting the standards and pushing street skating’s progression for the females, Elissa Steamer continues to get gnarly and has been picked up by the swoosh. Ryan Bobier has moved on up to professional status for his years of dedicated efforts on the griptape. Look for his signature stuntwood at your favorite shop now.
