Kareem and Crum Launch Push Distribution
Kareem Campbell and Mike Crum along with Texas skate pioneer Al Coker have joined forces to form Push Distribution. Push is a wholesale distribution company, operating out of loft offices in downtown Dallas, initially focusing on brands such as City Stars, Guapo, HYPE!, Finesse and Premium skateboards. Push is designed to service the core skateboarding community. Drawing upon the extensive experience and knowledge of the partners involved, Push will pride itself upon building strong relationships with the best shops and distributors both domestically and internationally. Van Wastell - R.I.P. There are no confirmed details at this time, but it is with profound sadness that we report of the untimely death of Van Wastell. He was just 24 years old and had just turned pro and was definitely one of the true originals. Van will be greatly missed Rest in Peace.

Check out new skate company HYPE! All you need to know is right here
and along side that is the actual distributor of Hype! skateboards, Push Distribution. PUSH DISTRIBUTION – PRESS RELEASE Kareem Campbell and Mike Crum along with Texas skate pioneer Al Coker have joined forces to form Push Distribution. Push is a wholesale distribution company, operating out of loft offices in downtown Dallas, initially focusing on brands such as City Stars, Guapo, HYPE!, Finesse & Premium Skateboards. Push is designed to service the core skateboarding community. Drawing upon the extensive experience and knowledge of the principals involved, Push will pride itself upon building strong relationships with the best shops and distributors both domestically and internationally. Pre-booking has already started and strategic alliances have been formed to service demand for each brand across the globe. Key Pushers include: Kareem Campbell, Mike Crum, PJ Thebeau, Rob Cahill, Al Coker, Robert Ferguson, Steve Black, and others. Visit Push Distribution for more. and finally, I know most of you have heard most or all of the Ali Boulala incident that ended up killing Shane Cross but just in case some of you don't know all of it and have been wondering where Ali is, read ahead; On March 6, 2007, Boulala was the rider of a motorcycle in an accident that killed Flip Skateboards amateur Shane Cross. When Boulala arrived at a hospital, his injuries were too severe for him to be kept conscious and he was placed in a medically induced coma until his vital signs and health stabilized. Cross's parents decided not to press charges; they only wanted Ali to resume a normal life. Flip's website announced that Ali has now been upgraded to an out-patient. As of Sunday the 24th of June, Ali has been staying in his new apartment just around the corner from the hospital. He will be cared for by his girlfriend and will have doctor visits throughout the week. He will still be reporting to the hospital for physiotherapy three times a week. Ali is now walking completely unassisted and was last seen at a party with a bad limp. In April 2008 Boulala pleaded guilty to one count of culpable driving. He was jailed for four years with a non-parole period of two years and disqualified from driving in Victoria for three years. The judge in the case mentioned that the long term injuries to Ali will act as punishment for the accident. The accident was caused when he smashed into the wall of the Tramway Hotel on March 7, 2007. A rising superstar, Cross, 20, was a pillion passenger on the bike. Boulala had a blood alcohol concentration of .162 and Cross, who died in hospital, had a blood alcohol level of .18. Neither of the men were wearing helmets. Boulala and Cross had earlier been at city nightspot the Cherry Bar. They then went to a friends house and drank beer. County Court Judge Sue Pullen said Boulala slammed into the hotel wall at an estimated 30km/h about 1.05am after doing two to three laps around the block. Judge Pullen said the crash was a tragedy. Before the crash, Cross was overheard twice telling Boulala he wanted to go for a ride on the motorbike. Boulala wouldn't let Cross go because he didn't have a helmet, Judge Pullen said. "You were therefore aware of the potential ramifications," Judge Pullen said. "You threw caution to the wind at a later stage on this evening." Judge Pullen said Cross had his whole life to look forward to and his family had suffered enormously as a result of Boulala's conduct. Cross was regarded as one of Australia's most talented skateboarders. It is understood he had signed to star in a video game. Boulala spent more than three months in hospital and suffered post-traumatic amnesia for 65 days. By the time he was discharged from hospital he was able to walk 200m without a walking aid. He was likely to be permanent affected by the injuries he sustained, Judge Pullen said. There was a question mark over whether he would ever be able to get on a skateboard again, she said. Judge Pullen said Boulala had a reduced range of movement, strength and co-ordination and suffered spasticity in his lower right leg. He still has trouble putting on his shoes and getting out of the shower. Boulala, 29, has been living in Richmond with his Australian girlfriend since he was released from hospital. Boulala arrived in Australia in November, 2006, to film a skateboarding video. Boulala and Cross, from the Gold Coast, were best mates and traveled the world skateboarding, Judge Pullen said. "Prior to this offense you were a person of good character. You were also a role model, as was Shane Cross." Boulala is now in jail, and is sentenced for 2-4 years because of Shane Cross' death. Take Back Your Backyard
Just prior to hosting record crowds at the Dew Tour stop in Salt Lake City, Utah this past weekend, the Salt Lake Valley Health Department has officially passed an ordinance to ban all ramps (present or future) on residential property. Their reason? Well, of course, Community Noise Pollution Control Regulation. Apparently, a couple of city officials dropped by the home of skater Nick Hale just weeks after he’d re-layered his mini ramp with brand new Skatelite to inform him of his now-illegal structure. As a result, he has launched a new website, slcminiramp.com to round up support against this very unfair and unjust ordinance. Rodrigo TX has now officially become part of LRG Clothing. The Romano family and immediate friends are asking for financial donations in lieu of flowers for Johnny’s funeral tomorrow in Spring, Texas. As you can imagine, the medical expenses have stacked up considerably for his hospital care and now, his burial. Please donate with generosity in love and memory of our fallen friend and fellow skater.
and Daniel Shimizu is no longer part of Stereo skateboards. From Stereo: September 26, 2008
Greetings from Stereo, Daniel Shimizu and Stereo have officially parted ways as of Friday, September 26, 2008. Daniel is an amazing skateboarder with a style so smooth, few come close to matching. We wish him the best of luck in his future and would like to send Daniel a big thank you for all his support over the last few years. Daniel will continue to remain a part of the Agency family as a HiFi Wheels pro rider. -The Stereo Sound Agency
