Default your old-school riders (post pics)

i forgot how dead and neglected this section is

so here's a useless bump to showcase your old-school rider boards

powell ray bones, tracker sixtracks, 1/2" risers, BDS dragon wheels

and one i pressed myself, but it tragically broke

trancey, skaterat, frontside_slapp, i'm talkin to you guys!

OK, for starters a few old school original pics.

Me at the Pipeline Skatepark in '77 or '78. Sims Super light with Lazer trucks and Hobie Claws for wheels.

Me again at the Pipeline, '79ish. G & S Proline deck with ACS 500 Magnesium trucks and YoYo Rollerballs for wheels.

Me on a Powell Caballero Snubnose, Indy 169s and Cowboy Punk Wheels.

Me on a Bill Danforth Snubnose.

Original Alva, Scmitt Stik, Danforth, Caballero and a Fight Dan made me.

Custom cut (by me) Bulldog Skate, 169s and Green Dragons.

I'll dig some more stuff up tomorrow.

it's not old-school per say, but it's a longer, classic shape...i'm thinking it's a good ditch board, but there's no ditches around here.

enter, the RABID RODENT REVENGE by feralarts!

got indys and some blank softie wheels on 'er.

    Damn ****ing straight.
I don't have a good job, my bank for my age is ok.
I'm single, kind of wish I wasn't, but at the same time I'm glad I am because I can fool around with whoever I want and I can do whatever I want and not worry about spending money on a chick.

I have a good job that unfortunately has my hours severely cut in the last 2 months so my pay is kinda sporratic. I like spending money on girls, it makes me feel manly. When your on a date with a girl and having fun and stuff that's some of the best times of life right there.

That Billy Ruff is a cool board. Is it a regular or a mini? I'm inclined to think it's a full size regular. Billy Ruff was a great skater on all terrain, though most noted for his vertical riding...

It's cool to see this site back up and running. I've been lurking, but haven't skated since late summer... I will be hitting the Sebastopol park in the near future, though... I could use a vacation the craziness of life. Rolling in skaterat's shoes for a weekend would probably be pretty cool, too

i'm pretty sure it's a full-size...i haven't found any specs from the mini, or the full size though. i found a scan of the graphic in black and white, so i'm thinking of stripping the original graphic off and making printing the B&W graphic over the natural woodgrain. hopefully, i've got some new wheels coming for that too, but i don't know for sure.

nope, it's a mini. as confirmed by comparing the graphic scan i found vs. the actual graphic on the board itself. the scan has 4 fingers plus a thumb, my board has 3 fingers plus a thumb.

I recall the G & S mini models were in the range of probably 28 or 29 inches long and under 10 inch width as opposed to the full-sized adult versions. It's trippy to see how boards have changed so much in terms of shape from back when that Ruff was a common deck.

It looks like that board has some Tracker Sixtracks with ultralight baseplates, too, huh? Ultralight baseplates weren't too functional for street skaters... Even the smaller kids would break those things.

    I like Indys and Thunders

My new board...A Moose blank that I painted and put the graphic onto. Some big ol' Indys, Rainskates wheels, and Toy Machine bearings. The griptape the shop sold me was really weird...it had a rubbery back that was REALLY hard to smooth out on the board (you can see some crinkles and bubbles in the picture). Normally that shop has Jessup or Minilogo, but this particular sheet didn't have any branding on the back, so I have no idea what it is...It's a little coarser than ML though.
