My budget limits me to about 800 at the most, but under that would be awesome. Im looking for something with good quality, and I cant have mini DV because I dont have a firewire port in my computer. If there is a way of fixing that, let me know.

dang, why hasn't s2k95 hopped on this thread? he's all about the and the and stuff.

which reminds me...i bought a fisheye lense for my point-and-shoot for $3 the other day. it's actually a telephoto lense, but it has that fisheye effect when it's zoomed all the way out.

Well for firewire port, if you have a desktop, you can buy a pci-express card
If you have a laptop you most likely have a 4 pin firewire port or an express card slot on the side. If not, there are plenty of decent solid state cams.
My favorite solidstate series are the panasonic hdc series, most of them being 3ccd and providing great manual control, but the canon hfs100 looks amazing too.
You will want a fisheye too, if you go with the hdc series, buy a babydeath, if you buy the hfs100 I would get an opteka 58mm or raymod.
For minidv I would go with either a vx1k/raymod, vx2k/raymod, canon gl1/glmk2 or canon gl2/raymod, maybe even a dvx if you can find one.
Oh and if you go hd, make sure your computer can handle it (at least 2 gigs of ram and a duo core cpu.)
i aint just a nigga im a punk rock nigga so i aint got nottin to lose- (hed) PE
