Parts of the skateboard: skateboard hardware

Skateboard Mounting Hardware

Skateboard hardware is basicly the nuts and bolts that keep your trucks attached to the skateboard. There are different types of hardware, but they don't vary much. The only main differences are the bold length and the head type. There are mainly two types of bolt heads for skateboard mounting hardware, philips (or star) and allen head (needs allen key).

The bolt head is at the top of your skateboard deck where the grip tape is. You then put your trucks on the bottom of your skateboard (line the holes up with your baseplate). Then takes your nuts and screw them on and you're ready to go!

The choice of mounting or assembling screws you should consider if you are going to skate with or without pads.

Here as a rule of thumb:
without pads: 7/8 of an inch length
with thin (rubber) pads: 1 inch in length
with thick pads (1/2 stacks): 1 ¼ inch in length
